We use USPS Priority Mail for the majority of our shipments. We also try to use the flat rate boxes as much as possible. Our shipping rates are currently based on the quantity of fabric being purchased & the lowest shipping price is based on the cost of the USPS Priority Padded Flat Rate Envelope.

We are still fairly new & don’t ship enough to qualify for much of a shipping discount. Unless the shipping cost is astronomically more than what you were charged initially, you won’t be charged any extra, but just so you know we ALWAYS refund the difference if we are able to fit your order in a smaller/cheaper box.

You may need to enter your address, but the cart should calculate the shipping cost before you actually place your order.

We receive our inventory from a wide variety of different sources & it seldom comes with any information about content, weights, washing, etc. We do conduct burn tests, but we are in no way experts. If you are concerned about content, we strongly recommend that you order swatches, so you can make sure you are able to use the fabric before purchasing multiple yards. As stated in previous sections; Our inventory comes from a wide variety of different sources & seldom comes with any information about weights, washing, content, etc. That being said, we cannot guarantee how the fabrics will do when they have been washed. It is important to note that Cotton, Linen, Rayon, Bamboo, Wool, & all other natural fiber fabrics will always shrink some, whereas polyester’s & other synthetic fabrics will not. The best course of action would be to test a piece, wash with like colors, use cold water, etc. (basic common sense.) A good tip if you are concerned about the color bleeding, toss a bit of vinegar in with your fabric. It will help set the color.

Due to very high shipping rates, our site isn’t currently set up to ship internationally. That being said, if you live outside the US we will happily ship to you. If you are interested in purchasing some of our fabrics, please send us an email that includes the following information:

  1. A list of the SKU #’s
  2. The quantity for each fabric
  3. The email you use for PayPal

Once we receive this info we will create a invoice (via PayPal) & send it to you. After the invoice is paid we will cut, package, & ship your order out.

We ship USPS & use the Priority & Flat Rate options as much as possible. Your invoice will include a shipping estimate, but if shipping ends up costing less we will refund the difference back to your PayPal account.

While we would prefer you keep your purchases, your satisfaction is very important to us. We want you to love our fabrics & us, but if you need to return & exchange any of our products, please read the following return policy to ensure your return is able to be accepted. These terms apply to orders purchased Online Only. Our in-store Return/Exchange Policy is different.

First thing first, please Contact Us beforehand & we will do our best to work with you on your return or exchange.

Returns & exchanges are accepted within 30 days from when your order shipped, so please double-check your order when you receive it! Refunds & exchanges will be processed once the product has been received by The Fabric Market. You are responsible for return shipping charges.

Products NOT eligible for return/exchange:

  • Fabric cuts less than 3 yards in length.
  • Fabric that has been cut, washed, sewn, or otherwise altered, including carrying a smoke odor.
  • Habitual returns.
  • Items returned without prior notice.

All fabric is cut at the time of purchase, not prior. We usually only get limited quantities of each print/color & re-selling pre-cut pieces are difficult, as people assume there is something wrong with it & expect to get the piece at a discount. We strongly recommend that you order swatches so you can ensure color, texture, or weight before committing to making a purchase. Please check out our Swatch Policy.

We don’t usually send out coupons or discount our fabrics, mostly because our prices are already so low. However, we do have a rewards system that every online customer has access to! Our rewards system is pretty simple. You can earn points when you sign up for an account or writing a review, but mostly every time you make a purchase. You can redeem these points before you place an order anytime.

10 points = $1
The most points you can use for each purchase is = 30
Signing up for an account earns you 30 points
Writing a review earns you 20 points

All of our fabrics have a weight listed, but it is just a very rough estimate. We get our fabrics from a wide variety of sources & most of the time they don’t come in with any information. We will cut a yard of one or two fabrics in a category, weigh them, & use that as a guide for the rest of the category.

For example:

  • 1 yard of Linen weighs approximately 6 oz
  • 1 yard of Wool weighs approximately 30 oz
  • 1 yard of Chiffon weighs approximately 3 oz

We understand that purchasing fabric online can be quite a challenge & we are more than happy send swatches of the fabrics we have online.

Each swatch you receive will measure approximately 2″ x 3″ (the size of a business card.) It will also be labeled with the Name, Price, SKU, approx. # of yards, & width of fabric. Please keep track of the swatches you request, since it does take time & effort to find & label them for you. Also from time to time, when adding new inventory, we will re-number some of the fabrics, so SKU#’s may change.

US: If you request 5 swatches or less, there is no charge. We will have to charge a flat $5 fee for any additional swatches to account for shipping & our time. Some fabrics like to hide from us, so it may take some time to track them down. 😉

International: We would be happy to send you swatches, however we will have to charge a $15 fee for 5 swatches or less. Any additional swatches are $1 each. These charges account for shipping costs & our time. Some fabrics like to hide from us, so it may take some time to track them down. 😉

Most line-good items are reorder-able, such as select colors of our solid Poly/Cotton, Gabardine, Gauze, 2-Tone Chiffon, & solid Charmuse & Bridal Satin.

Unfortunately, the majority of our inventory is “Promotional” or “Close-out,” so we are unable to reorder many of the fabrics we carry. If you see something you like, you should act quickly & order it, because once its gone, its gone.

The good news is that we are receiving other new items all the time & we do our best to update the site as often as we can, so you have access to all of the good stuff.

WHY ARE SOME OF YOUR PRICES DIFFERENT ONLINE AND IN-STORE?

TheFabricMarket will always try to provide the best possible value to our customers, but because of the different natures of a brick-and-mortar retail store and an online store (ie: shipping), we will have different pricing on some of our products.
