This lightweight 100% cotton batiste has a subtle herringbone pattern weave, which runs across the width of the fabric. Perfect for historical costumes, lightweight sheers, blouses, skirts, summer dresses, children’s apparel, costumes, scarves, craft projects, etc. This fabric is also fairly sheer, so depending on the project lining is recommended. It’s hard to see in the pictures but the herringbone pattern adds a raised texture to one side. Compared to the 58″ plain white batiste, this is more of a cool white. The 58″ is warmer, but not enough to be “off-white” or “ivory.”
