Create This Look – Rosette Minky – Camel
Good Morning! I can’t believe December is almost over! I hope everyone has all of their Christmas shopping done… or at least almost done. There are still a couple of days left so have no fear, The Fabric Market is here! Maybe this weeks look will help you finish up your Holiday sewing. This week I was inspired by the “Symphonic State Of Mind Cape” from ModCloth.
I was pretty excited when I saw this cape while scrolling through ModCloth. Most people don’t think of using Minky for anything other than blankets or baby clothes, but its perfect for outerwear. Its super soft & soooo warm. We have quite a selection of colors, but I chose Camel because it was the closest.
The pattern I chose is B5819 by Butterick. I recommend using View C. This pattern was designed for fleece, so it is not lined or hemmed. Even though it is not necessary, I would hem the bottom because it will look more professional & finished. According to ModCloth, our inspiration look is fully lined. From the pictures it looks to also be lined in Minky, which would be super soft. It would also be fun to use a satin, print, even a different Minky print or solid.
This cape would be the perfect finishing touch for your Holiday party outfit. Check out some of these other colors you could consider:
