Create This Look – Large White Floral Knit Polyester Lace
Welcome to this weeks edition of Create This Look. I was inspired by the “Lacy In Love Dress in Blush” by ModCloth, this week. They no longer carry the blush color, but they do still have the dress in mint. This blush color has been a really “Hot” color for the past couple of years. Especially for weddings. This would be a really fun dress for bridesmaids or even as a wedding guest.
I actually created this look with two totally different fabrics, but we recently got a couple of shipments that contained the perfect fabrics for this dress, so I decided to switch it up. For the outer dress I chose a polyester knit lace, that has a really pretty large floral pattern. I hope the pictures do the lace design justice.
I chose an awesome blush colored rayon to go under the lace. Rayon is really flowey, so its perfect for this flirty, girly, lacy, dress.
The pattern I chose for this dress is quite similar to the inspiration look its from the New Look collection by Simplicity 6143. I love the fact that the under dress has a sweetheart neckline, but also has the lace overlay that goes farther up. This allows you to be modest and dare I say… a little sexy at the same time! ;O I recommend using view E.
We recently received several very pretty laces & I have also unearthed more solid rayons & lightweight polys, if you feel like mixing it up. You can find our entire collection of Laces, Rayons, & Lightweight Polyester’s, online. Here are just a few examples:
I included this black lace because it is just so pretty. In my head this black lace would look really neat with a bright solid color underneath. If you make a dress using this lace please post pictures! I would love to see if it looks as good in real life as it does in my head. ;P
