Create This Look – Red & Navy Plaid Cotton Batiste
Good Morning! This week I’ve been inspired by the “Beach House Brunch Jacket In Warm Plaid” from ModCloth. Not quite sure why they are calling it a jacket, I would call it a cardigan, but whatever. ;P This is such a great casual lightweight cardigan. The perfect addition to your wardrobe. It reminds me of a giant scarf with sleeves.
I chose our Red & Navy Plaid Cotton Batiste for this weeks look because I think the weight is similar to the inspiration look. This fabric is super lightweight, Perfect for making scarves, window sheers, skirts, dresses, costumes, craft projects, children’s apparel, & much more.
The pattern I chose for this look is M6084 by Mccalls. This pattern has several great variations, but for this look I recommend using View C. The pattern recommends using lighter weight fabrics such as Crepe, Silk Rayon, Tissue Faille, Challis, Jersey, & Cotton Knits. The fabric I chose is a cotton batiste, which isn’t on the list, but I think it will work just fine.
One of my favorite details of this cardigan is the fringe hem. What a great alternative to a traditional hem. It would probably take a little more time but I think it would be worth it.

I hope this weeks look put you in the mood for some slightly warmer weather.
