The Together Tank – Knits & Wovens
Let’s all be honest – most of our modern closets are full of knit fabrics. From leggings, to t-shirts and easy knit swing dresses, most of us love the comfort and forgiveness of knits. However, garments made from woven fabrics are usually more formal, more appropriate for business casual or occasions a little fancier than every day. This Together Tank is the best of both worlds!
The front of this tank top is made from a woven fabric, appropriate for Cotton, Linen, Chiffon, Voile, Georgette, or even stable knits. The pattern includes side darts to provide some shaping and then falls straight to the hips.
The back is made from stretch fabrics. I chose a medium weight, plain black cotton knit. Jersey would be perfect. I used the same fabric as neckline and arm binding.
I really love how this tank turned out. After wearing it once, I am convinced I need an entire summer wardrobe of them. It feels like a t-shirt but is a little more put together than the usual “momiform”. If you’d some help to make your own, I’m running a local class on the Together Tank June 8 & 22nd. I’ll help you choose your size based on your measurements, help with cutting out and walk you through the sewing. If you’d like to join us, click here to register!
